New Harmony Endpins

New Harmony Endpins

I first became acquainted with New Harmony endpins around the year 2004 or so, when I was completing my masters and upgrading my then personal cello's endpin.  It was simple beauty then, and remains so today, all at a very reasonable price.

Over the past decade and a half, they have solidified their place as a mainstay for high quality fittings while being relatively economical!  At around $145 plus installation from your local luthier, their standard endpin fitting with an accompanying carbon fiber rod is, in my mind, a bargain.  They are built to last, and function like luxury.  Nearly every cellist I know has had a slipping endpin; a overly sticky endpin; a constantly dull endpin; or just an endpin that breaks down.  New Harmony meets the musicians needs and desires, both economically and functionally with their endpins.

Standard endpin fittings are finished with a classy stainless steel ring, but can be gold plated as well.  But, the real "gold" with the endpin, is the way in which it works.  Unlike some endpin fittings, a gentle turn is all it takes to securely hold the endpin rod.  Because of a unique compression mechanism, the amount of torque needed to hold the rod securely, is minimal.  This also aids in the longeviety of the device, because you are not putting undue stress on the threads of the screw, or making direct contact between the screw and the rod (potentially damaging the rod as well!).

New Harmony currently has several variations on a theme, if you will, on their basic endpin.  Please contact me at info@samsstrings.com, and I will be happy discuss with you the options which best fit your needs!
