We are excited to receive another violin by Portland, OR maker, Anna Sandys! This violin is based on a 1735 Guarneri Del Gesu model and features highly flamed diagonally aligned back of Red Maple and a rather wide grained spruce top. The instrument gets a full and rich tone, and is very even across the strings! A video is forthcoming.

about the maker:
Anna Sandys studied violin making at North Bennet Street School of Boston under Kevin Kelly and graduated from the program in 2001. She worked for several years with Arthur Toman learning instrument set up, tone-adjustment, repair and restoration.

Anna’s instruments are entirely handmade and characterized by bold tone and flowing workmanship. Her instruments are typically built using well aged species of North American tonewood which contribute to their unique tone and appearance. Anna currently resides in Portland, OR.
