Scott Sleider, a member of the American Federation of Violin and Bow Makers, Inc, has been making violins for well over 30 years, and his instruments are spread out all across the USA and Europe. Trained in the German tradition, his instrument are consistently powerful and rich. Sam first had the chance to try Scott's instruments in 2016 at the VSA competition, which made a lasting impression! We are so glad to now offer his violins now in our shop.
This particular violin, made in 2015, is based on a personal Del Gesu pattern, with a reddish varnish and golden undercoat. It has a brilliant focus and full core sound which allows the player to really explore the upper limits of the instrument's capabilities. Certainly the qualities of a true soloist violin.

Sleider studied violin making and restoration with Frank Jankowski, Hermann Kentopp, and John Beck. Since 1980, Sleider has been an active violin maker and dealer of fine professional instruments, running his own business, Scott Sleider Fine Violins
