One of Zack's early violas, it was exquisitely made with California Bay Loral (Myrtle) along a Maggini pattern. While the back length of this viola is 16 1/4", the string length is much closer to that of a 15 1/4" viola, making it easier to play. In addition, this viola won top marks for workmanship in the 2015 Arizona International Violin Making Competition, and 2nd place overall. Tonally, it has a haunting tenor like quality, which is full and resonant.
