This is a lovely sounding violin which we just finished restoring. It is branded internally "PK" and handwritten on the ribs an inscription, indicating it was made by Paul Kessler, Markneukirchen, 1914. We believe it is a German workshop instrument from this time period.
The body of the instrument is in excellent condition, with a beautifully flamed one-piece maple back. The pegbox has a "unique" repair that was completed many years ago, so we decided to install perfection pegs, as using them does not require pressure, thus eliminating risk to the pegbox.
The instrument gets a very healthy tone, full and rich. It is suitable for an advancing violinist, looking to upgrade to an instrument which will help them project and compete on the next level! Great value for an authentic antique violin.
