These photographs of the cello posted are of the actual cello that is for sale. This particular video is from a recently sold cello of the same pattern/size. Note that the cello for sale has 4 Perfection pegs installed.
I will try to post a new video soon!
We became acquainted with the Jay Haide "l'ancienne" model instruments a few years ago, and quickly realized that they fit in very nicely with various lines of instruments we carry. The reasons we like them are because they are made well, use good quality materials, and are extremely consistent in tone quality, all at a very reasonable price point.
The Jay Haide "Statue Model" cello has an excellent balance of price/tone/quality, offered from the firm of Ifshin Violin Shop. This cello is made from all European tonewoods, which are of plain to lightly flamed maple and spruce. Compared to some of the other "l"ancienne" models, the Statue model is lightly antiqued, which I personally prefer. Tonally, these instruments fall within the same tone-world as the other models we have played: easy to play, quick response, even tone and warm.
All Jay Haide "l'ancienne" instruments are professionally set up in our shop (customization is possible such as adding perfection pegs, posture pegs, etc.). Suitable for the advancing or advanced student, they come in two larger models (Montagnana/Ruggieri) and a Strad model. We usually have a couple available at any time; give us a call to have us send you a customer sound sample and photographs.
